About Video Ready

Video Ready is a set of free video tools: an MP4 converter with pages for MOV, MKV and WebM, a video compressor, tools to trim, crop, resize and merge videos, and effects like reverse, loop and speed.

Why it exists

Most online video tools upload your file to a server, make you wait for the upload and a queue, then cap the file size, add a watermark or ask for an email before the download. That's slow for big videos and awkward for private ones. Video Ready does the work on your own device instead, so there's nothing to upload and nothing to wait for but the encode itself.

How it works

Videos are decoded and encoded in your browser with Mediabunny, an open-source media toolkit, using your browser's built-in WebCodecs: the same hardware video encoders your device uses for video calls. When a change doesn't need new pixels, like converting MOV to MP4 or looping a clip, the video is copied as-is, which is fast and loses no quality.
